I kind of lived a similar childhood. My dad was a pediatrician and my mom was a nurse. In the 70's-80's, we would fly or drive all over and they would speak at breastfeeding conventions and weekend conferences. No drugs, good stories....just alot of women and children and healthy snacks

One time a stringer for Rolling Stone came down to do a story on BOA. She was extremely beautiful. I had the unique experience of having her attempt to seduce both my father and myself. Not at the same time. Neither attempt was successful.
One time Connie (Ruby) and I went to a party in Mountain Home. She got into a drinking contest with a couple of my pals. She drank them both under the table. I'll never forget her standing over them, chugging Jack Daniels, and yelling at them, "Pussies! Get up you pussies!"
This is a pretty amazing thread...and to think I was bragging to Sternodox that I know Randy Jackson and Narada Walden.
Oh man ... going through all these pix suddenly brought to mind how many of these people are dead! Got a lump in my throat there for a minute. So lucky my path crossed so many others.

Although Dad never worked for ZZ Top, bands he did work for often shared a stage with them. One of the reasons my folks' marriage worked so well was that they traveled together. Mom ran t-shirt concessions at all the concerts. For whatever reason Mom and Dusty met and had a real connection and they became good friends. She had to be the one to call and let me know when Dusty passed.

I also happen to have kin in Arkansas, served in the USAF (many years after you),
and my dad use to sing Jim Dandy all the time, when I was just a buzzling.
Later, I became aware of Aldridge, but from my Pat Travers albums,
and was mainly drum influenced by Aldridge (and Bonham,) so these stories are just pinging on my head
I found this earlier today;

In my entire life I heard my Dad use the F word exactly one time. And that was quoting someone else. I never even heard my Mom say Damn. Ever.

I’m with Filterfunk. There’s enough memories here for a good and loving bio on your dad or Connie or just the business from his end of it.
I admire your dad especially. It definitely beat working behind a desk.
