Growl

I have just started playing bass and I want a good growl. An example of the growl I want is the intro to Out From Under by Incubus <http://youtube.com/watch?v=Ys0R67yQ_-c>. To come close to this sound, how should the bass, mid, and treble be adjusted?

give yrself more mids-bass 6/10, mids 8/10, treble 5/10 as an eg. Didn't listen to the vid yet tho-no time atm. Rotosound swing bass strings-I've always thought were the growliest strings I've used.
