Growly Roundwounds

I started working withe a Blues/Rock Power Trio that tunes down a half step so I am switching back to round wounds from flats and was hoping to get some opinions as to the best place to start experimenting so I don't spend a fortune trying everything.
Lots of different strings out there so I was hoping to get some opinions as to where to start.
Looking for a growly sound and use four string 55-105 or so...
Any opinions or suggestions are appreciated.

I've tried pretty much everything out there and keep coming right back to D'Addario XL Nickel rounds. Plenty bright without being harsh.

Rotosound 66 are pretty growly. Also GHS Boomers.

another vote for Rotosound 66's! Depending on the bass used (in my case a Regenerate guitar Works 55 Tribute [essentially a 55 Pbass SCPB]) Ernie Ball Cobalts get pretty growly, but of course they are a spendy option.

GHS Bass Boomers are the power rock bass string. Brutally animalistic growl. I reviewed the standard 0.045 - 0.105 set, but there is also a heavy 0.050 - 0.115 set.

I +1 Rotosound Swing steels and Bass Boomers.

If you don't like stainless steel then D'Addario nickels will do fine. Relatively cheap compared to the aforementioned strings and lasts longer for sure

The new GHS Round Core Bass Boomers have a throaty vocal-like growl.
