BTW, does Pickle Pie "B" sound similar to original Swollen Pickle?

I can only judge by samples of the Swollenz, but they sound nothing like the Pie that I've spent a lot of time with lately.

No, I don't think it's too close. I do think, though, that if you have a B-15, you shouldn't place the mic directly infront of the bar that goes across the front of the baffle:

Wow, that mic records just as well on your stuff as it does mine! Makes me want to go back to using mine live. Your first recordings were overmodulated, but you seem to be ironing it out. Pooped my pants over that Blueberry. That's what I like to hear. Pickle was good too but I got little use for anything stronger than the Blueberry.

+1. I can tell by the clean tone of the jazz. The 1st recording was almost dubby compared to what I know a jazz should sound like normally.

In the "normal setting" clip of the Pickle it sounds like a jazz bass.

Did you move the mic farther from the cone?

Did you move the mic farther from the cone?

I did, I also turned off the SM58 that was connected to the mixer, armed at volume, and sitting about 10 feet away from the amp. I may move the mic back close again this evening and try some more there. I want to get to the point where I can reproduce fairly predictable results.

Only tonebender I have is the Sonic VI (jumbo tonebender), no Green Sovtek (I do have a hoof here), Bluebeard is long gone.

In that order?

I'd go OC-2-->Pickle-->Groove Regulator but that's just me.

Putting a fuzz first will interfere with the Boss' tracking a bit, but you still could go that route.

Not quite the same thing but heres:

and then a second run swapping the BOD for the OC-2. Or vice versa, I don't remember.
