Guess where I was last night!

Incredible show, musical communication at it's finest! The Granada in Lawrence is all GA, very few seats. Halfway through Stanley Clarke's set, I noticed some of the Wooten Band with their attention riveted to the stage. Huge respect there! A must-see show if you get the chance. Check their websites for upcoming venues. Worth every cent. Actually, I don't think you can put a price on it. Peace.:hyper:

hmmm...what was that guitar amp on stanley's rig? could that be one of those new ampeg guitar amps?

That was a fender amp Jimmy. If you'll notice, there's also a GK goldline, I believe they're called, cab below that as well. I assumed he was running through. Although I guess it could have been for one of the keyboardist. Great tone coming from him whatever the configuration was. Nice deep lows , unlike some of the youtube vids I've seen of him where his tone seemed kind of nasally.

It was a great show, even if his band did seem to have their share of problems that night. The drummer absolutely KILLED!!!!

I saw the show in Boulder last night, and agree, it was fantastic. Packed house and the crowd was really into it. Supposedly, the drummer was under the weather. But if that's how he plays when sick, I can't imagine how he'd be healthy, because hecwas amazing.

My only complaint: the crowd took forever to get quiet during the solo on upright. He asked if his volume was good, and it was, but a few vocal people kept asking for more. It's possible that the room was spotty, but I honestly think that some people just weren't comfortable with the dynamic range, wanting everything loud, instead.

Still, a very inspiring show.

Finally got my pics from the show uploaded. It was a great show. I had been waiting almost 40 years to see Stanley, had tickets for him in Norman way back in 1974 or 75 and wound up being booked out of town. It was a loooooong time coming for me to finally get to see him! here's a few pics.....

Thanks for the sharing the pics. amazing!

I see my old bandmate Ruslin on keys with Stanley! I have now played in bands with two people who have made records with Stanley Clarke. Shouldn't that somehow make me a better bassist? By back-dated 2nd-hand osmosis or something?

I think it may tip the time continuum slightly but, not sure if the second part are you now a better bass player them him? Is the final conclusion lol RTS

Too bad vic doesnt know that mismatching cabs does nothing for your tone :)
hey, vic endorses a $150 power cable apparently without knowing that all that wiring leading from the building to the power lines counteracts anything an expensive power cable could do...that is, if it could do anything, which it can't.

so i'll be happy to get playing advice from him, but i'll pass on asking him about anything technical.
