the color is a bit weird on mine... it's green/blue/brown/grey/black... but after looking at the piece under the bridge I think it was originally blue-ish, but still it looks great in person!

I had a black one in the late 80's--wished I'd kept it.
A buddy of mine for years played a fretless that was one of the best fretlesses I ever heard.

I stil have a Amber quilt (straight head) and Cherry 'burst flame maple (hockey stick head). I had a Natural quilt with the "ocarina" headstock but traded it. I got them all for very small $ in the '90s.

has anyone modded their pilot?
the only thing that was changed on mine: the previous owner added a hipshot extender(I also have the original tuning key)
family pic is coming soon. two of them are out still getting there mods finished. and i am in the process of buying a 1983. so once i have them all together i will be shooting a family photo. probably about two weeks or so.

I have a hipshot on for my B string - gives me that low A...also, I have a EMG B/T control....I'm also thinking about swapping out the electronics...maybe some Basslines or Nordstrands, still haven't decided.
really love the EMG B/T control on my jazz bass and I really love the basslines in the jazz... but the EMG's really sound great, they just look ugly(really worn in, starting to get really shiny)
