I actually just posted it for trade in the classifieds because I like it but it was not what I was expecting... kind of a bummer, it's a really nice bass

It is passive and the body just doesn't feel right to me...it's crazy because this bass is mint and the neck has the coolest tiger stripe in the maple...

I recently bought a Guild Pilot out of curiosity, and liked it so much I bought another. Great basses! The only problem I have is both have cracked control cavity covers.... does anyone know of a good pickguard place that could cut me a couple new ones?
Do a trace and send that to Roger at Jeanies or try pickguardian or any halfway to competent luthier...
Hello all I have a pilot that from what I can tell is an 88 serial # is BE103079 I absolutely love this bass! I've been doing a lil research and maybe I'm looking in the wrong place but how do you tell if its a 602 or 603 and what are the differences between them?

After I put the GIF together I got a rare SB-601 Pilot. It's the middle one below between a SB-600 on the left and a SB-602 on the left.
The most amazing thing about the SB-601 is that it only weighs 4-1/2 pounds!!!

They have a little different sound then the later Pilots because they have the pick-ups reversed like the early "Pickguard Pilots".
#19 still looks amazing! If I never fell in love with elricks I would still have that one!!

So #19 the one I bought from you? While it's fairly rare as a first year Pilot, (20 frets!) it's really uncomfortable to play without the "arm relief" bevel on the edge of the body. Leo sure did get that "contoured body" thing right!
