Guild Pilot questions

Hi there,
I figured someone here should be able to help me with info about my pilot.
I would like to know what year it is. Serial # BE101792
It has 4 knobs instead of 3. Was that an option or the advanced model?

You might have better luck going to "Let's Talk Guild", the Guild forum. There's also a resource there (Hans Moust) for a RELIABLE serial number dating system. The information FMIC lists on the Guild website is really unreliable. That's because Guild simply didn't keep consistent records, and because a lot of the records from before Fender's purchase of them (in 1995) were lost.

That headstock logo, and the extra knob look very unusual. My Pilot Pro had four knobs, but they were arranged equally spaced (it was a separate volume control for each pickup, and the bass and treble controls for the factory installed Mighty Mite pre-amp/active EQ). Have you figured out what the knobs do?
