We all have them - that song on the setlist that we can't wait to play. It's probably not the hardest bassline but it just feels good to play. It might even be a little embarrassing. For me - Unbelievable (EMF). How about you?

I've seen those posts, but I'm asking about something different. Not just the songs I like or songs that get stuck in my head - but the songs in the set that I get excited to play.

That's not even "guilty" for me. That's a [bleep]in' great bass line! Playing that one is always fun!
Became a favorite for everyone in the group, along with the regulars in the crowd. Usually played it pretty tight, and the enthusiasm was obvious.
Only slightly ashamed of that second one. But not really, cuz that bass line is fun to play

It starts with a Hendrix inspired overdriven bass intro of Third Stone From The Sun, (the guitar line) and morphs into the KoKo Taylor Classic Wang Dang Doodle ... the outro lapses back to the 3rd stone theme.
Wow.. I can be repetitively redundant twice in one day, in two threads more than once...
If we didn't repeat whatever has been said before, we'd soon find we have nothing to say, and odds are good if something was said... no one would understand it.
To answer the OP.... Head East; Never been any reason... not because of the bass solo... I love a good B3, moog lead, Harmonies, and it it almost has enough cowbell..... ok... I like a bass solo once in a while too..

I don't play in this band anymore, but when I was in a pop radio cover band, one of the songs was "Heartbreaker" by Pat Benatar. Although it seemed pretty cornball when I was asked to join the band, the guitar player and drummer (who were father and son) were both rock and rollers, and we managed to put on a pretty great version of it. It was a lot of fun to play.
It's been a couple of years since I was in a cover band, but in that band my guilty pleasure songs were the Grateful Dead tunes. I had never played any Grateful Dead songs prior to joining that band, and was not in any way, shape or form a Grateful Dead fan. Nor do I care much for Phil Lesh's sound and style. But damn, those songs were fun to play. To this day I get great pleasure out of playing along with Grateful Dead songs (not necessarily performed by the Grateful Dead) on Spotify and YouTube.
