If you subscribe to the GC daily newsletter today's email contains a personalized 13-character coupon for 15% off with minimum $50 purchase.

Several brand exclusions (no Yamaha, for example) but it does include basses from Fender, Sire, Sterling, Jackson, Gretsch, Squier, Rickenbacker, Hofner, Schecter, Markbass, Cort, Charvel, ESP and others.

And the sale also includes amps, effects, and other instruments.

Annoyingly, I couldn't find a page showing which specific brands were excluded, nor is there a listed expiration date on the coupon.

I have never been able to actually use one of their discount codes. Every time I try it tells me some error, no longer valid, does not apply, etc message. To me the 15% thing is a scam to get you to browse their site. IME it isn't real.

There are brand and product exclusions, which is why I provided links specifically to the thousands of items that are eligible for the discount.

If you pick instruments or accessories that aren’t within the sale page of course the coupon code won’t work

If the brand is excluded just go in store or chat with a customer service person, I've never had them deny me using the coupon even if they have to use an override to change the price.

I'm going to try that today with two items not in the approved coupon list (a Yamaha bass and a Novation controller keyboard) but I haven't had success doing this in the past.

i'm usually able to get 20% off from gc/mf just by opening chat and asking. sometimes i'll get a rep that will only give me 15 but i can usually get 20

FYI I did speak with a Guitar Center rep who was able to give me the discount on the Yamaha bass even though it wasn't in the giant list of approved items... so today I bought it with a few other small items (strings, patch cables, etc). I'm stoked!

I bought myself a Fender Player II "Moonlight Drive" limited edition P-Bass last month using a 15% coupon I got in the mail. It was in-store only and I had previously happened across a glorious specimen of a Player II P at the GC in Independence, MO in May. I happened to be driving through there again on June 18th, which is my birthday, so I stopped and treated myself to a P-Bass-shaped birthday present.
