Sounds like GC is prepping to screw their employees over, and wants to make it so they can't do anything about it. I've never heard of this sort of thing and in my retail experience I have never had to sign one of those.

Exactly. This is their loophole against a Class Action lawsuit, when they fire everyone soon.

That is too bad. I have noticed that every time I go to GC there are new faces, seems like a very big turnover. Most employees probably won't be around long enough to worry about this.

GC will lose more in the court of public opinion than they will in any class action. That this story is now public is potentially expensive for GC.

I find the opposite at GC or Sam Ash here.
I can recognize most of the employees have been there at least a year.

It's a business and financial decision, period. I highly doubt political ideology had any bearing on their decision to do this. That's an entirely different debate.

A financial decision made possible because of 'how things are' which very much is political.

Everything is possible or not possible because of "how things are". GC is responsible for their actions, not right wing politics.

I would hate to be in the position of the GC employees. I would assume the majority of them won't have the means to tell GC to get stuffed.

I am glad I did have the means when my boss put the screws to my paycheck. He thought he had me right where he wanted me, but I wouldn't put up with it and quit.

An arbitration agreement is common in the business world. In my industry they have been around for many years. It states that before pursuing a lawsuit you will go before an arbiter which is an impartial entity. Actually a non issue.

The word binding could prevent anything beyond the arbiter.

I'll never buy anything from any of those brands again. Not that I ever did much anyway since they generally never have what I want. Mom and pop and JustStrings from now on. I'm done.

At the end of the day wether you're at an arbitration hearing or a courtroom it boils down to someone's opinion. You're not forfeiting your rights.
