Yeah, it might be listed as good, but sometimes a guy with his hands on it can tell you more.

I made my last trip to Richmond VA GC to sell something.
They were only going to offer me $150 for a GK MB Fusion 500, saying they could only sell it for $260.

The guy was getting his price from the same model in their Midlothian store, which is a busted one. I am quite sure it's the same one I returned to Richmond store many months ago.
They will move gear down to Midlothian if it doesn't sell after 3 months. I found this out when I spotted my old Blacktop bass there, when I had sold it in Richmond.

Instead I traded the GK for a Quilter Tone Block 200 at Sam Ash. Do not take anything to Richmond VA GC, unless you like being insulted.(figuratively)
It's not the first time they've extreme low-balled me either, so I'm done there.

Dude, If you're selling gear to GC, prepare to be insulted. That's like saying, "I grabbed this poisonous snake, and it bit me! ***!"

the Midlothian store is better on their pricing, and Richmond store used to not be so bad.
They have a new policy now where everything is run by the manager & he is the Central low-baller from Hades.

so now, if I want to compare pricing between GC & SA, I need to drive the 30 minutes between Midlothian GC & Richmond SA, and then possibly drive back again if the first store is the winner.

If I wanted to move gear, I'd list it here and on CL. If I was desperate for more audience, Reverb. Selling to GC is akin to being raped.

I can buy things on GC, but I can't sell them on GC.

I didn't mean on here ("around here" as in my area), but I am averse to packing stuff & then waiting for it to be damaged in transport.

Next time I will just make the drive to Midlothian first & then back up to Sam Ash, unless I'm in a hurry & just sell it right out in Midlothian.
Oh wait, first I'll list it on CL & FB for a month and take on low-ball offers & people wanting me to bring it to them or hold it until payday, LOL

If I wasn't happy with the final outcome, I'd still be a G-K owner.

GC didn't screw anyone. I'm a software developer. This is how some databases are designed to work. If two people are browsing the same item, and there is only one actual item, the database will show both parties that the item is available. Of course, only one transaction will advance to the fullfillment stage, the other one will be issued a refund.

If you're curious, take a night course in Microsoft SQL Server and read up on optimistic vs pessimistic locking.

From what I think I read, it automatically kicked back a, "sorry, but you aren't buying it" email.

You're free to do business elsewhere, but GC used is mostly better than Evilbay, these days.

Well I worked in different websites selling stuff and I still do. This is complete BS and not a good commercial practice. You can work on zero stock, sort of, but when you advertise something specific, one order closes the ad. Honestly it's nothing hard to setup. Now if you sell something on site as well, you just mark it as paid manually afterwards, which was not apparently done, and should take 2 min with the correct CRM. Cross buying should be minimal and quite rare...

It's hard to have something like GC's website updated in real time when purchases are handled on another system entirely. If I had to guess, there is probably an interface that runs at regular intervals to pull down any inventory that moves during the day. It probably runs a couple of times a day at BEST and OP just caught it before the update.

1. Many times stores will put something on line, and it will sell in house before they have a chance to update their web site. They should update sales once a day but at times they can delay it a couple days especially if they it in he store and on line for a while with no bites.

2. Seriously, over 200 bass guitars you bought? Did you sell them on line as a side business to make extra money?
