Guitar Centered Ruined their Used Page

Guitar center has always been my go-to for buying used gear online.

It was simple. Go to guitarcenter.com/used and search for whatever you wanted in the "keyword" field.

They've removed that field.

Now you have to search through their stupid filters. Obviously this is an attempt to get people to browse more things and hopefully buy something they weren't really looking for. Similar to how stores places items that should be right next to each other in different isles. Or constantly move stuff around.

F U guitar center.

Reverb it is I guess.

Darn right.
Forget Upselling Guitar Center!!!

That is very annoying. :sour:

Local store that sells everything use to have pet food near the regular food, easy to get all you need in one area.
Then they redid the layout... :bored:

Now I got my groceries and to get the cat food, have to walk past the Housewares (cooking pans, coffee makers, cups and plates), past the Hardware (Shelves, tools, and storage) past the Automotive (oil, lights, floor mats) Sporting Goods (Balls and ball accessories) Bikes, Camping (Tents, coolers, folding chairs) then finally the Pet Food on the other side of the building.

The pet community must have been very vocal to the store's management, about three months later the pet food is back at the end of the human food.
Balance restored.

The way the page operates tends to change fairly regularly. The used key word search may have been accidently deleted, meaning it may return. If it does, it may take awhile.

Most of my searching is done by category on a daily basis, so the missing used key word search is not that big of a deal for me. I search Amps and Mics with sorting set to most recent. Sometimes a lot of stuff is added on a given day and I miss something. So, I agree the keyword search is nice to have.

FYI the key word search at the top of the pages queries both used and new items. I just searched for Aguilar DB:

There are 15 used and 8 new result indicated in the left sidebar:

You can select "used"

I don't find it particularly useful to specify condition.

It's the last place to get good deals on used gear on the internet, for the most part. What makes it awesome sometimes is also what makes it frustrating at other times. I got a 1K guitar in mint condition for 400 last year, but also bought a combo amp, supposedly in great condition, with so many issues it should have never been accepted, or sold for parts at most. But it beats most other places online, where people price their gear to sit for six months or more.

No they haven't. Maybe it moved, but it's still there.

Although as far as I can tell, when you don't already have a search query active, the "Search Keywords" field is effectively the same as the big "FIND YOUR SOUND" search box at the top of every page on the site. When you already have a search active, though, it does help with refining the results.

No active search on my end. The "find your sound" shows new results as well.

I get the "min" and "max" windows but no "keywords"

Are you on a mobile device or have the browser window very small? The UI will collapse the "Refine Your Search" column into a little box you have to click to activate, but when you do the "Search Keywords" field is there.
Full screen deskstop. If I hit Control F and type in "key", the search finds keyboard twice but not keyword.

If I type in "find" I get:
