GUITAR OVERDRIVE ON BASS ?

I know - but I was simply responding to what was said in previous posts, and trying to help

But considering there are many Overdrive pedals that have gain on tap - and are capable of getting a usable fuzz tone for bass - I think it rates a mention.

Ok.

If it is boss, I'd say get a SD-1 or a DS-1 and a EQ [or a blend if you can get a hold of one or build one]. The SD-1 actually is a very nice sounding overdrive but the is a little lowend loss, hence the EQ. The important part is to get the sound even if it takes more then one pedal.

Can I use BOSS LS-2 Line Selector as a blender ?

where should i put the eq? before or after the overdrive?

I've got an ancient Ibanez TS-9 in my current pedalboard, & sometimes I also whip out a Sansamp GT2...but frankly, neither of them are ideal for bass. (Or for what I want overdriven/distorted bass to be, rather.)

Yes - the LS-2 is flexible and can be used a number of ways. Check the Boss site for the manual and it shows six ways to use.

I use the blues breaker to make some power chors or use it in chorus, in a band where there's no guitar. it's nice and usefull

The marshall gov'ner works well on bass. and so does the way huge pork lion, the voodoo lab sparkle drive, and the digitech hardwire cm-2 tube overdrive pedal.

If you're interested in distortion pedals, check out the zvex distortron, the t.c electronics dark matter distortion pedal, and the digitech hardwire sc-2 valve distortion pedal. I plan to get a digitech hardwire sc-2 valve distortion pedal for my bass sometime soon. I'm really impressed with how it sounded on bass. I'll be buying that pedal real soon.
