Did anybody ever try this GUITAR OVERDRIVEs ON BASS:

You could just find some way to split your channel (I.E., buy a box that just takes your channel two ways) and then put one through your distortion, and the other clean, if your amp has a double input. That's what I do with my distortion and clean. That way, you keep your lows and your tight clean sound with your distortion in and you can switch it off for full clean.

It's not here in the U.S.

You can probably find it on eBay or on GuitarCenter and Musicians Friend and get it or so. I've loved it since I got it, first I had a DigiTech Grunge Distortion (Which I didn't do my homework and found it was incredibly muddy.) and so I sold that to my guitarist friend, and with that money I bought the PD-7 and loved it. You can use it on a Clean setting for just more punch or a little crunch, or you can dial in more overdrive or full out distortion or fuzz. It's very versatile. And if you just carry around your pedals seperately, the ToneLok knobs come in handy.

Not exactly. There's a Drive knob on the pedal which is like a Gain knob, but it's not quite the same because the pedal delivers a preset amount of Gain, but when on Clean, there is no Gain at all. But there is an Attack Switch, that has overtones to your bass to add more punch or more clarity, and it has a two way EQ, but the level knob could make it act as a booster too, yes.

My settings on it are lows at 12 o' clock and highs at 8 o' clock, with my level at 12 o' clock and my Drive knob at 7 o'clock or 8 o'clock.
With the attack switch off and the mode on O.D... It gets a rich, full and fat distorted tone while still preserving the high end sparkle of my ATK.
