Cool guitar! I have a GAS for 12 springs guitar (and 6 strings bass a la Fender/Squier VI) but never brave enough to pull the trigger
Being a big fan of the pre-1990 Ovations, I share your excitement from afar !

I took guitar lessons as a kid. My first guitar was a Harmony archtop with f-holes that my dad bought for my mom from Sears or Montgomery Ward in the '60's. Then a early '70's no-name MIJ semi-hollow electric, then in the mid-70's, a '61 Gibson LP Jr which I sold about 10 years ago, once I committed totally to bass.
I recently bought a beautiful Nagoya N-40 at a downsizing sale. These were imported by Veneman's, a DC-area music store as a more affordable alternative to Martin.
The strings are rusty and the action is 1/4" but I'm hoping that new strings and a pro setup will bring it back.

Giffin T Deluxe build in progress. I wanted the sound of a Les Paul, but ergonomics of something like a PRS. I'm short and the LP ergos don't work with me one bit. Mods include a 17" radius, big stainless steel frets, and hopefully figuring out some kind of 6 way wiring so I can grab the traditional 3 pickup sounds plus each pickup in parallel and the inner coils together in parallel. Will be emerald green when it's done.

While I prefer my own Ovations in "plain Jane" natural, they did have a way with certain bursts.

Saw this on my travels--the store was closed unfortunately.
I would have made every effort to get there when the store was open next.
we were out of town & they were closed until after we had gone home.
Update on the Nagoya acoustic.
The luthier was able to reduce the action to 1/8th of an inch at the 12th fret with the truss rod and shaving the bridge. The guitar is not worth enough to warrant a neck reset. I think it will work for someone who just needs something to strum open chords. One of my guitarist buddies is coming over on Thursday so I'll get to hear what it really sounds like. Noodling around with it, I've concluded that whatever limited guitar playing ability I once may have had when I was a teen has totally disappeared.
