Guitar players corner!

We’ll, I got a new battery for it and the charger is not charging the new and the old battery.

Charger is defective and I was able to find a new one for a a good price on eBay.

What happened was is that I walked into GC to get some strings and then walked into a pyramid of lt25’s and was like this is a sign and ordered one from zzounds.

Glad you got the mower sorted. (I was about to buy an eGo since I have the snowblower, but found a free greenworks that just needed a wheel! Anywhoo..)

I’ve definitely gone in for strings and come out with more :roflmao: (Latest I recall was a G&L bass!)

Can’t wait for the review!

Sorry to hijack, but just curious for knowledge here. How much grass can you mow with a battery powered lawnmower?

I have a 80V Pole saw and 80V weed eater and 80V backpack blower. The weed eater is sufficient on a full battery and does all I need it to with about half life left over. The Pole Saw does surprisingly well for what it is, but I use it sporadically and haven't had it long so I don't really know it's limits yet. But the blower really taxes a battery pretty much using the whole battery to do my sidewalks and driveway in a hurry. No way could I blow more than maybe a quarter of my lawn for leaves at this rate. (these batteries are huge - Kobalt brand).

I can't picture how much grass I could mow on a battery and am really curious about how far this technology has come now.

I also play guitar. But that's not my only other instrument. My first introduction to music and instrument training was on piano at age 6. When I was in 3rd grade the school music teacher put me on violin, then cello, then by 7th grade I was on string bass. In 8th grade my dad came home with a 5 string banjo and the Bonnie & Clyde soundtrack and as he handed them to me he said, "Here...see if you can learn to play this". In 9th grade the school transitioned me to tuba, since I already knew bass notation. In 11th grade I played electric bass in the school jazz band. By then I'd gotten proficient on the banjo but figured a guitar would be a better means to attracting girls so I got an acoustic guitar. Then an electric guitar.

50 years has passed and many lessons on each instrument were logged along the way. And I'm still playing the same instruments that I started out with...bass, guitar, banjo, and keyboards, along with a bit of mandolin, and related gear for each.
As things turned out, those skills have come in very handy.

I have a greenworks, it’s 1 battery pretty sure it’s the 40v (can double check if you like.)

I’d guess I mow about 1/2 - 3/4 acre, and can do it all in 1 charge. (Though typically I split that in half and alternate, to leave some flowers available.)

There’s one spot that I let go all spring and just mowed it in July. 3-4’ tall grass and weeds. It just destroyed them no problem, I was surprised how well it performs.

I have a Skil mower with a 40v 5 Ah battery and I would say it lasts about 2 hours in a well kept lawn. I can go a week without having to charge it and mow front and back of my house. If it’s fairly tall I would say the battery would last about 1 hour.

I have a Kobalt mower and the 80V, 2.5AH battery is sufficient to mow my whole lawn, which takes me about half an hour.

Thanks for the info. I may purchase one at some point and use if for the front "yard" so to speak. I could use the exercise. LOL.

This might would be the one I'd get because I have the other tools and multiple batteries already. Do you know how big of a space in acres that half-hour lawn is? I need to check if Kobalt has higher AH batteries. Otherwise, Captain Chaos' Skil run time is pretty darn intriguing.

No, I don't know the how big a space in acres it is. Kobalt (Lowes) has 5.0AH batteries available.

What kind of strings are best for those? ;) :D

Just a suggestion for mowing the lawn with the battery device. Mow regularly, so that the lawn never gets above a height where you need a catcher. i.e. all clippings should disappear into the newly mown lawn. NOW to qualify that statement: I'm not saying you can't catch the grass, that was an illustration to give you some idea of the height to mow it. I was a landscaper for many years in the tropics. we had contracts to mow schools. The contract was to mow once a month in the dry season and fortnightly in the wet. It was actually quicker and more efficient to mow every week during the wet as the grass had not grown nearly as much. If it were done on the forntight, what was a 3 hour job (weekly) would take about two full days. Far less stress on the mower and a far prettier job. The old adage: little and often!

Just got my my mustang lt 25 and I have to say I like this little box. It’s perfect for my needs which is to play in my room and it sounds cristal clear. Something that I have to say is that it takes it a second to register any changes in the eq and not all the effects are great but it will suffice for what it is.

If it's like the Rumble LT25 bass modeling amp, and I do believe it is, you can download the Fender Tone App for PC or Mac, then connect to your amp by USB and manipulate the presets and parameters!

For the 900th time, I'm considering changing the pickups in my tele. It's had a SD Alnico II and Jerry Donahue in it for over a decade, but I never play it because I hate the hum. I did put a 4 way switch in, and that's cool, but the other positions bother me. I've decided on a Dimarzio Area T neck and 615 bridge, but there's no point in making the change because I hardly play guitar these days anyway. Yay GAS.

Found a set of Fender Ultra Tele pickups for $50 off, so i bought them today. Probably get them next week and then it'll take some time to get them into the guitar. So we'll see how this turns out.

I bought a slant control plate and need to buy a new 3 way switch. Has a 4 way now and I never use that sound.

I will definitely try it soon. I can say this amp is dead quiet and something that I really like a lot is that it was able to tame the bridge pickup of my Les Paul.
