Guitar string in Ibanez EHB bridge saddle

For reasons I will not justify or explain, I want to use a guitar string on the top course of my Ibanez EHB1005SMS. But the ball end on the guitar string is too small to work with the headless bridge saddles. My thought is to take the ball end of a bass string and thread the guitar string through it, and the place the (now two) ball ends together in the saddles. This looks like it will work, but does anyone here know of better options, or wish to alert me to pitfalls.

That should work, if the guit string is long enough to clamp in properly.
Other than that, the bass probably won't know the difference :smug:
