By the way I play all types of rock except that emo stuff, mostly hard rock, metal

Would put Gibson instead of Epiphone but that price just booms >.< trying to keep it within 300-500

Yup. Guitars are ok, but it just seems everyone plays em today.

I guess I could say the same thing for violin...chose viola (and later DB) over it just because treble is definately not my forte.

I play both electric guitar and bass guitar. I think the two compliment each other very well. Definitately a bonus when writing songs.

Prefer bass over guitar any day.

They are all good choices, but I'm a strat man myself. It's a good all around instrument. Same with the Les Paul or Tele.

If you're playing hard rock or metal, than a Strat or Tele's single coil pups probably won't give you a sound you like. They don't drive distortion pedals or amps anywhere near as well as humbuckers. I vote Epi Les Paul. The SGs don't weigh enough to feel right to my bass-playing side--they feel like I've got styrofoam around my neck rather than an instrument.

I've played these guitars, and they blow away Fender Standards (MIM) and the Epiphone Les Paul/SG offerings (IMO, obviously).

They are kind of a Gibson/Fender hybrid with the Tele shape, but with the full size humbucking pickups and 24.75" scale.

Jump on this deal while American Musical still has them at this price. I have had to stop my self from buying one myself, as I'm paying off some recent bass gear purchases...

I vote for 'all of the above'. I have a MIJ strat that I have modded fairly extensively over the years. I also have a MIK Hamer studio that now has WCR pickups and TonePros hardware. It's a Les Paul slayer, now.

And I play my Taylor 12-string more than I play my bass now.

I suggest taking an Agile Guitar over an Epi. Man, the finish is absolutely stunning, came set up pretty well, and only cost me $200 for a spalted maple top.

honestly, i wouldnt get either of those, i find companies like fender and epiphone over rated, i recently got a single cutaway, chambered, yamaha, which may not have the "coolness" factor that PRS, Fender, and other big names have achieved over the years, but i can honestly say that it plays and sounds equal to many many guitars worth up to 2 times the price.

I also think esp makes good guitars for the money too, but they still arnt nearly as versitile as my yamaha aes620.

I've got an Ibanez Artist series myself, but of the ones listed on your poll, I'd get a Strat. Then again, it's all up to you. What sort of sound and feel are you looking to get?
