Double Bass gut strings and the realist

I have the opportunity to buy an used The Realist Pick-up here in Italy for 100 euros (half the price in Italy). I play with gut strings a 100 years old german flat back, solid wood.
Do you think it could be a good idea?
I have an old combo GK MB200 that I use in small club when I have to play amped and sometime I send an Audix D4 to PA. now I have an Underwood.

Since the realist is such a great pickup, I think your strings will sound fine with it. I have noticed that gut strings through an underwood and a GK amp is also very good combination.

IMO the Realist is the ONLY pickup I would chose to use with Gut strings. It gives you the sound of the body and is very natural sounding. The Full Circle is good too, but it still has a bit of its "own" sound.

I use gut/Anima mix with a Realist and really dig it.

I'd use that realist on an old bass with guts too. It will sound very natural out front.

Be sure to try before you buy. Some Realist pu's overdrive the input of an amp, depending on your technique, style, ect. In that case, if the GK has an input pad, you should be a OK. But be sure to road test before laying down your euro's. I'd wager and say you are going to like the sound of your mic to the PA more.
