Yes, I have but only on basses set up for historical use. One needs to tightly wrap the crossed ends with thinner gut or thread for about an inch. It is very important to form a huge ball on the ends of the gut by heating and smashing into powdered rosin. Good luck! Tom
Thnx Tom, I saw a pic of I believe of a Strad tailgut, either on Damian's site or Dan Larsons. I discussed it with Dan, but he didnt have the right gut at the time. Whats the benefits/drawbacks? John
