Yeah, happens to me, too, on the west coast of Florida. Beach gigs, sometimes a bit more inland. The Finger Ease and face grease always got me through, though had to be re-applied thru the gig. But it worked....the humidity outside must have started going up because my fingers were just sticking to my strings.
At some point a few years ago, I developed dyshidrotic eczema on my hands and feet. One side effect of that is I can't develop callouses on my fingers anymore. Painful, like when just first learning on strings LOL. Desperate and dead-in-the-water, I went thru a few solutions and finally found the perfect solution in @gebass6 's post, the Musician's Practice Glove. No more pain! I could play without fear again! Yay, me! LOL.
The super side benefit of the gloves was no more sticking on the strings. Period. Ever again. Even smoother slides than with bare finger tips.
Here's the main site. As gebass6 posted, they're available on E-Bay and also in Amazon.
Musician's Practice Glove®
Here's a pic from my 2nd to last gig (before pandemic screwed things up). Flesh colored glove on left hand.:
I have black ones, too, and joked about it on-mic about the upcoming Michael Jackson portion of our show LOL.
Another benefit is it's an indentifier for me, as in, "That bass player with the glove." Even had two girls ask for the glove after some gigs. "Of course, m'dear, of course." LOL
Anyway, for the sticky strings thing, this is a solution you might wanna consider. If you're worried about how it looks, this won't be for you. If you wanna play the gig sticky-free, just slap on a glove or two (one each hand), joke about it on the mic, and have a ball.
