Hadrien...you are great, Ken thanks for the video link.

...and I don't care if your hands never personally touched that instrument, Ken...it sounds damn good regardless, and I'm sure you had SOMETHING to do with that ;)

As for what instrument he might sound better on...please kids. To qoute Letterman: this is an exhibition, not a competition; Please...no wagering.

Hadrien sounds good regardless of what he's playing on, I'm sure - it's 99% in your hands folks, remember?

As for Hadrien being paid by the note, or being young or having too much exuberance...I can't agree. Somethimes less is more...but sometimes, more IS more. I can't do that!

Mad props, Hadrien. You have many more years to go in which time you can play more legato. For now, shred away, it sounds GREAT.

Since the last time i was here with you and Mr Smith ,2 weeks ago +- ; it happens something incredible!
I have been contacted by Mr Hajime wich is a great Japanese importer , in particular for KEN SMITH Basses !! Mr Hajime is a great person , and he really knows about music and basses...
He decided to support me and he sent me a beautiful BT5G Vintage white tiger...
I received the.....Beast ! My god !!! What a bass.
Beautiful , it sounds ,comfortable to play .... I pluged it in my U5 avalon , direct in my G5 just to try on record... Awsome. I still had some concerts in club ; the bass gives a clear and distinct sound on my stuff
OK, it's like my birthday...; and i don't want to bother you more than this.
It will be the sound of my next album , i'm working on actually.

After hearing from a friend about Hadrien on the Industrial Zen CD, I got it and was very impressed. I checked out Youtube and was blown away, great tone, chops and creativity. Truly another great talent to watch and listen to. Who cares which bass he is playing? I happen to own a Ken Smith Burner and a Sadowsky and love them both. Different instruments... hopefully I sound like me on both. Aren't we here to just celebrate BASS?

I didn't mean any offence.

You're obviously a wonderful player and I very much look forward to hearing you play with John McLaughlin (what a fantastic gig that must be!).

Apologies for my aggressive tone. I should know better. However, I do feel that many new players lately, particularly in America, have a very similar sound. A quite compressed-sounding, mid-range quality to the sound which a lot of players have (when I think of other players with this similar sound I think of Matt Garrison, Tony Grey and others).

However, maybe it's just the sound that works in these times, for the kind of music you're playing.

Bear in mind, I'm only commenting on the "tone" here, not the music you're playing in general, as I haven't heard anything yet! I know a musician's musical voice is made up of far more than just he tone of his instrument.

Hope I didn't offend.

No,no don't be sorry! It could have been true that i sounded like many other bassplayer ! But i think it's not ! I use to work on that since i started to play bass ;exeption when i was trying at 15 y old ,to copy Jaco on my Mexican Fender J Bass!
Matt and tony are great musicians and even they play on Fodera , i do not hear they sound the same .
The difference is in the fingers .
Again , no offence at all and thank you for your answer.:)

Actually, I think I'm doing OK in the clue dept.

I could care less if your better than him, or he's better than you really.

The fact that he got the gig for one of the best guitar players in Jazz says he must be doing something. And he's what, like 22 or 23?

Listened to the stuff on your MySpace. It's OK.
You more than likely will be boared to tears with the stuff on mine. Especially if you think he sounds like a lot of guys, you'll think I sound like 100,000 other guys.
So who am I.......

There's a lot of "put up or shut up" around TB.
What that means is when you get to critisizing other players the first thing most do is check you out if they can. Or ask you to put up.
You have a MySpace, so your gonna get nailed sooner or later.
We all do that have something out there.

It also appeared that you backpedaled pretty good when Hadrien posted up in a reply to you. Maybe you didn't relize he was posting on here eh?!?
