You could potentially run your bass to an a/b y box to both amps and connect both amps to the cab.

Don’t do this.
Connecting the outputs of two amps together is an expensive recipe for smoke.
Yes- the amplifier outputs will be connected at the parallel speaker connections if you do this.

Correct, and it's not intended for amps operating in bridged topology (most class D amps)

I believe this is what you want. You can run two different amp heads through a common amp cab with this.

This goes between the instrument and two combos or rigs. It is not used for switching speaker-level output, only instrument-level input.
The setup instructions on the main webpage make this very clear.

Don’t do this. This is wiring the outputs of both amps together. I did that accidentally once. The Magic Smoke appeared and cost me a LOT of money.

What is your endgame here? What heads are you using, and what’s the nature of the cabinet(i.e. what drivers are in the box, and what’s the wattage)? IF you’re trying to switch between two different sounds during the course of your gig(if you’re gigging), there are much easier ways to go about that…using preamp, EQ, filter, boost, etc. pedals for a start. There are endless, more convenient options. OR…is there a problem with bringing another cabinet for the other amp?

None of the above. Just be comfortable in the practice at home and avoid the inconvenience of manually switching the speaker cable often (one day into the amp A and another day into the amp B). The problem having two cabinets is no free space at home.
