Half-Rounds for Medium Scale

Hi guys, I'm new here and I've recently picked up a string through body mustang bass. Does anyone have any recommendations for a half round set? Or if not a half round set, maybe some really bright flatwounds. I guess what I'm looking for is the feel of flats but closer to the brightness of round wounds. In addition, maybe the most mellow round wounds would also work for me again, something that would fit a string through mustang. Thanks guys!

GHS Balanced Nickel short scale round wounds will barely fit - meaning getting the silk to clear the nut. They are God's gift to short-scale bass players for evenness of tone, evenness of feel, longetivity, good tension (not to stiff - not too floppy) and reasonably priced. Being rounds, they will be a tad brighter than flats, but not twangy bright as NPS rounds are when new.
