Half scale travel bass build

First of all I'd like to thank everybody for all the likes and kind words!

I would also like to build a custom gig bag or hard case for this bass, can someone point me to some good resource on the topic?

I’m working on a half scale build now. Your case solution looks great, to fit your body shape, which I think is way cool. Mine is different, although also a single piece of wood, more of a typical neck and body look, so I think I’ll get a tenor ukulele soft case.

I made a 580mm scale bass last year, but I kept to standard tuning (by using a B string for the E and an E string for the A etc.) It is on the edge of what will work. Have I gone too far with this one?

By going for a shorter scale still, you're right to go an octave higher. I hope you enjoy playing it.
