Okay folks - bear with me on this. I know there's an "evil music" thread, but I'm looking for a specific type of music for a Halloween bash I'm throwing.

I have assembled some older stuff, including Rob Zombie, Marilyn Manson, and similar high energy, goth metal type stuff as well as Tool and The Melvins, but I need some more ideas. I'm looking for more music in the vein of Rob Zombie, specifically. Not looking for cookie monster vocals or super depressing stuff - I want music that works for a party, but which still conveys at least a degree of horror/evil.

Does that make sense? Apologies in advance if I'm being too vague.

Does it all have to be metal? The new Evil Nine album is called "They Live" and has a zombie theme but it's electro, breakbeat type stuff.
Black Sabbath "Black Sabbath" is perfect Halloween music. "What is this that stands before me? Figure in black that points at me."
Slayer "Reign in Blood"

The soundtrack for Halloween - a great score by John Carpenter himself!
Diamanda Galas and John Paul Jones - Her vocals are at times incredibly wicked and his grooves are very evil!
Gwar!! A perfect band for Halloween.
KISS too for that matter!
Dead Kennedy's "Halloween"
Mercyful Fate and/or King Diamond - more great Halloween music.

Every Misfits song ever. They're mostly about horror movies.
MJ's Thriller. Gets every girl dancing every time.
And a lot of psychobilly deals with horror themes. Edgy, but danceable.
Also check out Nim Vind, Calabrese and Wednesday 13.

Keep in mind that a good party generally relies on how much of a good time the ladies are having, so choose your music that suites their tastes.

Misfits, Danzig, Electric Wizard, Sisters of Mercy, Bauhaus, Goblin, White Zombie, Swans, Graveyard, Witchcraft, Acid Witch, Reverend Bizarre, Wolves in the Throne Room, Farsot, Type O Negative, Blut Aus Nord, Virgin Black, Novembers Doom, Burzum, etc.

Those are my Halloween music choices. Some might not work well at a party though.

Type O depressing? Really? I guess YMMRV. They always make me smile since all of their schtick is so OTT and tongue-in-cheek. I mean Peter Steele is playing a double bass suspended from a chain like an electric bass in that vid.

He always apologizes to the original artist before doing a cover tune, which is hilarious and at a show I once saw quipped in closing, "To those of you that liked us, thank you very much. To those of you that didn't, just think, we could have played longer." It's all silly fun with those guys.

My old band did Black No.1 at a Halloween party years ago and it went over very well.

The soundtrack from the movie The Crow - City of Angles has a great mix of dark type songs. For the most part anything from PJ Harvey, White Zombie, Seven Mary Three, Toadies, NY Loose, Korn, Pet, Nick Cave, AC/DC, Ozzie or a number of the grunge bands will fit.

But you have to remember that this is for a party. To those unfamiliar with said band, the tongue-in-cheek aspect will likely be lost in the translation...
