alright guys, i just picked up my new bass today. The electronics are fantastic for an old, second hand, compleatly stock bass that was only $200. compared to the seymour duncan quarter pounders on my p bass, the hamer pickups are not as hot, or as punchy, but very clean and clear, no hum whatsoever, really nice. for sure wont replace the neck pickup, and even though it's not that hot, i'll probably keep the bridge pickup as well. well hear it is in all it's glory.

I have a lot of plans for this. Like i said, the electronics will likely remain untouched, but i'm putting the Kahler bass tremolo on it, a drop d tuner, maybe a paintjob, some straplocks, some cool new knobs, and i'm gonna replace the rear rout covers with see through acrylic, cause i saw that on a Les Paul Standard at guitar center, and it's super cool in my opinion. any other recomendations?

Here's mine. Sorry for the crappy pics. I'll take some better ones soon and post them.

Yes, the correct pronunciation is HAYmer and the ones made in the USA are FAR from cheap in price or construction.

Anyway, here is my '85 B08s.

Very cool! I love those basses. The only mod I would recommend would be replacing the pups with Dimarzio X2Ns. Not a direct replacement but if your gonna refin anyway you could have a luthier fill in the cavities and reroute.
It'll sound like a dump trunk without a muffler.:)
