I've been talking with Marko about getting one. I'll do a full report when it shoes up later this year![/QUOT
If it shows up. Yes, I'm calling him out on a public forum. Not just any forum but a TalkBass forum for which I fully expect to be banned.............................................AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Come on Richard, really? (Khronic for those wondering).

You give me no choice but to publicly defend myself at this point...

Richard is/was the inventor of a really cool bridge design. Due to several reasons - many of which he will concede are of his own doing - the bridges never went into production. I tracked him down, came to an agreement to make them, and in his perpetual state of mistrust and hostility (well documented on here, look t up), he has lost his ability to keep his head in check and wait for things to pan out. As if a new company and a complicated new product like his bridge just happens.

Perhaps he forgets how tricky it was for the machine shops or finishing? I paid him an up front royalty on far more pieces than we've made so far and have sold exactly zero. I guess my unplanned trip overseas pisses him off and he's waiting for his sample longer than planned... but instead of acting like a rational person, he's going into attack mode instead (again!).

Richard.... there was a reason I put your cooperation and silence into the contract. You are not the top priority among the dozens of things that are on the go and you know this. If you want to be your own worst enemy and sabotage this bridge of yours from making it to market - yet again - then just tell me now the deal is off and your chance at seeing another penny disappears by your own doing. Otherwise I am back in Toronto tomorrow and will be able to give you a full update. Yes, it's taking some time to come together which you are right to wonder about, but accusing me of things on TB is not the way this is going to work.

:roflmao::laugh::roflmao::laugh::roflmao:That's precious.

...."his perpetual state of mistrust".... He received negative feedback. I asked, and was lied to about it. I feel quite certain joeypee would share his experience with TB like he did with me.

...."Perhaps he forgets how tricky it was for the machine shops".... I conceived, designed, and built these myself. Perhaps you forgot? I'm a machinist, it's easy enough if you know what you're doing.

...."- then just tell me now".... NOW! :hyper:

Richard - every single "good" email I got from you since last fall was paired up with a "bad" one, where you flew off into some profanity filled rant, or completely jumped to some paranoid conclusion that was entirely unwarranted. Every single time, I had to talk you down to a normal state, so that we could continue to take further steps. Things took longer than you may have liked, and I'm sorry that I can't make this bridge my #1 priority, but your track record here on TB, or HarmonyCentral, or wherever else you lost your **** with people is more than enough proof of what you're like when communicating with others. That you've decided to jump on me in public like this is proof enough that you're not being entirely rational - as this really isn't the right place for this at all. The TB mods surely don't want any part of this and I'm sure other posters are wondering why on earth you'd so willingly and easily sabotage a deal that would benefit you in the long run.

If these bridges are as easy as you make it sound above, then why after years and years of trying could you not do anything with them? Why did your machine shops not produce them? Why couldn't you find anyone willing to work with you?

I'm not perfect and I did drop the ball with Joeypee. I sent him a refund when he asked for it. He's not the only one who I had a delay with, but I made good with refunds or air shipping to make things right. That's what TB feedback is for, but I don't see how that's any of your business. It has nothing to do with your bridge, or our arrangement, and if you weren't in a "state of perpetual mistrust" you wouldn't have gone digging and looking for ways to bite my hand, after I've made repeated attempts to figure out a way to work with your schizo paranoia.

I just finished taking pictures of the samples I have here, and due to your hostile posts earlier in this thread, was going to send you a direct email with an offer to air ship them if you could just keep your cool for a little longer. I never got the chance, though, as I see you're presently in "rabid attack dog" mode, usually to be followed by "it's great to work with you" mode... though I guess this time probably not since you just publicly backed out of our deal. I've quoted it to make sure you don't delete it.

I paid you for rights to 50* 4 string bridges and 20* 5 string bridges, as a small first batch. I'm going to make these and sell them to recoup the money that I sunk into this whole thing, but that by your own self-sabotage, you may never see another penny from. At least not from me, if your "NOW" above is final.

Please respond one more time, clearly with full understanding that your answer is the final IN or OUT.

Do you want the sample, YES or NO?

Please see that Andy gets my "sample" if he is still interested. He may not care for the high mass Brass.

You and I are done. Clear enough?

So, I have been in communication with Marko about getting a 5 string when they are ready to go. He has stopped what he was doing and spent lots of time answering questions, even sending me charts of available models. In fact, he was communicating with me so much for a while I thought his operation was quite small. It was only later I learned that he is really going after a big project.... not a mom-n-pop shop. Once I figured this out I was pretty blown away by the amount of time he had given me.

Short version. I get a great feeling from the guy and look forward to doing business with him soon. I hate that this is even a conversation we have to have.

I'm with @keto in that unless it really hinders your ability to get your product to market, wash your hands of this guy. You are trying to take the high road Marko. And I applaud that. Seems it might be a dead end though.

Best of luck with all of this however it winds up.

Will do.

If we weren't before, we are now.

I'd like to remind you that I PAID YOU IN ADVANCE as a measure of good faith, yet you messaged another TB user warning them not to send me money? You didn't like what *one* user had to say about a $35 transaction that I sent a full refund for, so you go completely off the rails? How was any of this supposed to help grow a company that was going to sell a bridge with your name licensed to it??

It doesn't hinder me in the least to not to offer the Naimish Bridge. I did think it was a great concept and in speaking with people who had tried it, they said it would be awesome if someone finally made them. I have always had a modified design that goes completely around the need to deal with Richard at all, but I specifically made a point of making an arrangement with him so that he could be rewarded in some way for his idea - because I believe in ideas - and truth be told it felt like doing something right for someone who had been screwed over in the past. This was a dead concept for many years, and any revenue from me would have been easy, residual earnings - all he had to do was sit back, keep his mouth shut and let me market the product - but apparently even that was too difficult. It's a real shame because these are actually really nice bridges.

Richard loves his quotes by people much smarter than him, so I'll answer with one from Oscar Wilde: No good deed goes unpunished.
