1) Pickguards will be coming in Black (BWB), White (WBW), Vintage White (VBV), Cream (CBC) and Tort (4 layer). I was going to show actual photo mockups to all buyers when the goods were here to allow for a choice of guards. Same with hardware for some of you who aren't decided about chrome vs black. Once the items are actually here and we can do photo mockups, some of the order specs will likely change based on what is seen.

2) Soundclips have been shot with a phone, but not edited for posting yet. Might have to re-shoot as the quality isn't great, but I also want to borrow back Jesse's 30" two pickup bass so we can record it with both the short and standard scale. I'm hoping to do that next week when I get back from the west coast and we have one of our guys (TJ Armstrong from Nashville) up for a visit and doing a whole bunch of audio clips.

3) Regarding a P or some alternate.... only two not going that way at moment. One will have a Nordstrand BigMan in the sweetspot and the Alumitone at the neck, while the other will have a pair of G&L MFD humbuckers, with one of them routed at the bridge. These will be done after the regular builds go out and we can take the time to do the modified versions. The MFD one will be interesting, and I would usually say no to that, but this will be the 3rd Hammersmith going to that buyer, so I gave in.

When time allows, we'll build a few of these one-off models with Ps, Js, BigSplits, etc... to try them out, but with no commitment that we'll offer them that way on an ongoing basis.

is it too late to order ??
I should say yes (its too late), but since this is a special TB thing, the answer is no (you can still order). We have more coming than what was ordered, so we can accommodate add-ons at this point - you'll just be at the very end of the build cue, which is now at 43 of these. It's probably early-mid July.

If that's OK, please send me a PM.

I stumbled across this video on the main forum, in the "does all the sound come from the pickups" thread. I haven't seen it before, but if you watch, you can really see the inspiration for the K in terms of the 30" scale, the way the neck attaches, the location of the bridge on the 30", etc... We made a lot of improvements to this design, like a fully adjustable bridge, proper sized headstock and tuners, better electronics (and options, rather than be stuck with their oddball pickups). We morphed this with a Guild B301, with our own ergonomic tweaks for balance, reach, full scale compatibility, etc...

What number am I?
If I have the usernames correct, you're #9.

@jumbodbassman will be #13, unless he is superstitious and wishes to be #14 instead. I'd kinda like to keep #13 for myself, actually :)

TB serials will have a special batch of numbers... but yes, you're the 44th K bass overall. More were sold on Facebook than here, plus a few others not sold through either site.
