Hand painted basses/guitars

Looking through evil bay today and found a whole bunch of psychedelic hand painted guitars and basses all from the same seller. Some pretty high end stuff here too. Is this really a thing? Would you buy something like this?

I just can't see this adding value to an already expensive instrument. Just me.

To each their own. I can see where some would enjoy this.

There are some finishers I've seen some who apply swirl finishes to guitar/bass bodies. Some of those look pretty cool.

Those designs look great to me. And the prices seem fine for what you are getting. I can see a lot of people buying them if they were aware he existed.
