Took these pictures from our campsite of the site across the path....at Killbear Provincial Park....he seems to be quite comfortable on the BBQ... View attachment 4596870
They (Usually) wander away if you yell and make noise. But one night, about 3 A.M., nature called so I stepped outside and came literally face to face with one. Not sure who was more scared, he bolted up a tree, and I scrambled back into the trailer.
Bears are a nuisance all along Georgian Bay. From the Moon river north.
I was at a fly in fishing "camp" a few years ago and a bear decided that he would like to "clean" the BBQ on the deck. He also thought that the smells coming from the cabin were appetizing. We stood eye to eye with just a glass window separating us, with us inside banging pots and pans etc to try and scare him off. He obviously had experienced others at the camp and had decided that the cabin was a reliable food source.
He eventually left, but not without destroying the bbq and pooping all over the deck.
