Any ad openly condoning alcohol usage, 420 friendly, and say they are serious are not worth your time. Don't get me wrong though, I participate in both activities but I excercise moderation and I know alcoholics and stoners make for poor band members. *steps off soapbox* I probably won't celebrate but happy and safe 420 brothers and sisters of bass!

I dont use the terms to describe myself, but most people would probably call me a stoner.
I also happen to be the most dedicated and reliable person in our band, sometimes even more so than the bandleader himself.
The others partake on occasion, but are way less reliable than I.

I'm probably the same as you...when I have it I use every day multiple times but the same amount that lasts me two weeks or more(a gram or two) would last what I consider a "stoner" a day or two. I consider a stoner as some one who over uses pot. Just like someone who enjoys a beer or two isn't an alcoholic. My guitarist smokes more than me and he is a great band member and leader. When you need a bong rip or a beer every few songs then I think we have a problematic band member. I have worked with guys like that and it never lasts long.

Gawd dangit I hate stoner culture. As a raging drug-addict (not a stoner, that is just a kid friendly label) I use every day, so you know what today is people?

Friday....

Most folks who give two spits about 4/20 smoke every day anyways, anybody who celebrates getting intoxicated is an idiot as far as I am concerned.

I met Marc Emery (prince of pot) when he was released from our local jail, there was a private release party with him and some "pot celebrities" and though I agree with his mission, do I think smoking a joint on parliament hill is the right way of going about it? Nope, getting intoxicated in public no matter how you break it down.

End rant.

You sound uptight, you should probably go smoke a bowl or something...

Im not into "stoner culture" or anything, but it certainly doesnt rile me up like that.

St Paddys Day? Cinco de Mayo? The weekend? The fact that Ive lived another day? All perfectly good reasons to celebrate by getting intoxicated! Intoxication, itself? Sure, why not.

St patty's day and cinco de mayo are most definitely not intended to celebrate getting intoxicated. It is just that people do...

Well I am actually not sure about cinco de mayo (Mexicans are pretty rare up north) but I doubt that is what it's about.

I shoulda thrown in smilies... Im really bad at remembering that.

What I mean is, every day is a celebration. I included those days because theyre days that people use to celebrate getting intoxicated.

What does it really matter, though? For you and me, today is just another Friday.
For those that need it, its a bit more special than that. Why take that away from them?
Its not going to keep me from going to my friends 420 Party tonight.

- together...

Celebrating is not about getting intoxicated - it's about getting together to enjoy being together however you are.

Together is good, but I can certainly celebrate something all on my ownsome.

Its not about getting intoxicated, though, youre right. It just happens to be something that happens when you get certain people together. Or on my ownsome.

Well the back and forth was notoriously omitting the whole point about what celebrating means. What people do on their ownsome is entirely their ownsome business. When celebrations come around it's about getting together - that's all.

Otherwise, like someone else pointed out - it's just Friday - which is good enough for me. I am done with this week, man.
