How old would he be now; 90? I know I can look it up, but it worth knowing that his heyday is really fading from living memory.

I think about that yes, I remember thinking as a four year old, that's really cool I would like to learn that instrument, but all I had available was the family piano, so I went with that. He was truly ahead of his time. I still listen to him on a weekly basis and have transcribed a few of his solos. Still working on playing them up to speed, but I'm getting there.
