Can you tell me more about the correlation between the thread title and your question? Is someone telling you not to harass people?
I have basically been told to shut up by a few people, and it must be fun, because they continue to do so.
Generally I feel the need to harass people who need attention.

Seriously dude, you're not the first member to walk this lonely road, I've seen it many times. More and more you remind me of a famous former member who was basically drummed off the board by all the taunting and such, and eventually perm banned for his comments in his own defense. I took a liking to this guy and even stuck up for him a few times but it just brought fire my way, nearly getting banned myself for challenging the situation, if you know what I mean. He was mercilessly haunted all over the forum, and even still gets mentioned from time to time. The worst flogging I saw him get was at the hands of someone who eventually rose through the ranks here and I still think it was a raw deal all around. Mods basically told me that if you ask for it, you're fair game.
I don't know what to tell you. Internet forums are a beast of their own making. To a degree you create your own persona but it's also shaped by the reactions of other members. I know I've razzed you a few times but I'm trying to move to a nicer place and make sure I'm not too mean. Some never put the gloves on, though, I guess you'll just have to deal with it.

I've self-edited a whole lot more than anyone has told me to change something. There are just personalities and communications styles that cause friction, no way around that on any open internet forum. I'm sure I rub some folks the wrong way occasionally, haven't had too much trouble with being attacked on here (rather unlike the old HCBF, which was a little more "wild west" than this place is). Part of it may be that I'm more likely to just let a snide comment go than I was 15 years ago. I try to whine a little less a well, most folks don't appreciate too much whining (and of course, everyone has their own definition of what exactly constitutes "whining").
Grow a thicker skin and don't care what they think, just don't take the bait and they eventually should stop. Or you learn to ignore them. (Hint, in extreme cases, the ignore list does indeed work.) Or you decide you can't take it and go run and hide (somehow, I don't see that option being a good fit).

I've never had a problem really. I just try to fly under the radar and not say anything too controversial.

Some of the threads you start do have a pretty consistent theme. Sometimes it's hard to not let some things said here get to me. But it can be done.
Live and let live, right? Say what you want and let other say what they want. Even if you don't like what they say.
Sometimes it is good to pay attention and try and figure out where people are coming from. That can make it easier to "consider the source."
I think we are all struggling with being human in this world and sometimes our issues influence how we resond to life. Seeing people in that light can make things easier. Sometimes that doesn't help either and I still lose my cool.
C'mon now. You love attention. Are you saying you don't?
Ask a mod. In the past I've been told that, yes, your statement is basically correct.
Maybe not "any" harassment, but ... if you ask for it, your fair game. That's what I was told anyway.

That's they way I see it. I don't go out of my way to tell people to shut up.

I have a certain threshold for people starting new threads over and over.
I just cannot believe the threads mean anything to the OP if they are started so quickly.
Doesn't mean I'm right. It means my obsessive nature doesn't relate to others with ADD.
That's my failing. Periodically I am blunt with my critique.

I was twice yesterday, just not in OT, but I have definitely been told to shut up in OT, a few times just last week.
