hard fingers

hi people,i am currently seperated from my bass and will be for a month and although i ordered a varygrip befor i came away it arrived too late so any tips(scuse the pun)on keeping the plucking digits hard without access to a bass or guitar of any kind?.at the moment i just tap tables and get funny looks for it.grey area

Nothing I can think of that will do anything but draw unwanted attention to yourself (see above). Just relax and allow your (forced) time away as seeds of motivation and expression when you can get back to it. Hopefully the fleeting exile will have some lasting reward at the end.

Never thought the varygrip or any "exercizers" really did anything for someone, as there is no substitute (even remote substitute) for playing and time with the instrument.
 
thanks for the tips folks,the grafitti wont go down well here and spot on with the no substitute for playing(not poss)but i like the nail idea and will try that out now as when i hit india i will be gigging from day one.thanks again people and i will let you know how i get on.cheers.
