Got this article when looking for an Iron Maiden album cover. Basically, the article states that hard rock rots the brains of mice, and that teenagers shouldn't listen to it, as they will be driven insane. Also, apparently mainstream music is just as bad, as it has "sexually suggestive" themes in it.
Have to say, this is probably the funniest thing I've ever read.
What do you guys think?

Wow. What was even more shocking was this section.

If you don't believe me, then please believe the insane killer mice." I have been listening to rock music for over 30 years and haven't been driven to want to kill anyone (yet)!:D

Then she complains to managers whenever she hears pop music, rap, or rock on the radio in the store/public place? What does she expect to hear? Gospel music? No offense to religion, it's just that some people take it way too far...

I remember seeing an episode of mythbusters where they had various greenhouses in which they had the plants exposed to different genres 24/7 in each one. Funny enough, the greenhouse with the death metal got the best fruit if I recall correctly.

Thinking like this is just another method of finding a scapegoat in metal music, as has been done for years. Just because some people don't like it, it must be evil.

People claim it has "violent" or "sexual" overtones, and sure there is some of that, but the difference between metal and hard rock and the rest of the socially accepted music is that metal oftentimes has meaning behind their words. Listen to "The Heretic Anthem" by Slipknot, and most people will hear nine angry white kids from Des Moines screaming "666!!!", when the song actually has meaning. I dare anyone to turn on the top 40 station and find me a song that has a truly deep meaning.

Also, the violent and sexual overtones aren't solely found in metal. I likes rap too, but tell me you can go through an entire Busta Rhymes, Jay-Z, or Ludacris album and tell me you don't hear one song about sex.or violence.

The masses are more into pop and hip hop, and therefore metal is the official scapegoat of the world.

Google search "revolver metal made me do it". It's an article that talks about 10 horrific murders blamed entirely on metal. When people find such an easy scapegoat, they're not likely to let it go, and it really is sad.

No different than racism, or any other blind hatred.
Some people need to hang their blame on something or someone without rational thought getting in the way.

I'm not especially a metal fan, but I can recognize stupid, blind hate when I see it.
Anyone who 'listens to the voices' and commits some crime is not quite right to begin with, something will eventually set them off.

The people who espouse these types of 'opinions' frighten me far more than your average metalhead.

That website is funny, and depressing. If Jesus is coming back he will be kicking those guys long and hard long before he kicks anybody who listens to metal. I can be fairly sure of that. Its amazing that a website using the title "Jesus..." can preach so much hate... and from such a self-rightious position as well. The worst of religion right there imho. If an Islamic website had those views then the owners would be in Guantanamo....

IT'S TRUE!!!!! IT'S TRUE!!!! Being a mice myself (or a rat as my wife calls me), my brain has been rotten since 1976! Also, I once listened to a Madonna song, and now I'm a lesbian whore mice with a rotten brain! Oh the humanity!

80 years ago the tobacco companies were warning us that Marijuana (cannabis with a new shifty mexican sounding name ftw!!!) made you commit all sorts of imoral acts.... such as listening to JAZZ MUSIC. The crime.

On a different note...

Was your distant grand-daddy a gorilla? Sadly, some people would like for you to be believe so. There is not one shred of proof of Evolution, only unproven theories and speculation.
