Hi,

I am interested in the Hardwire series (the CM-2 to be specific) and I was wondering how they are in general. Do they hold up over long periods of time?

How would the CM-2 compare to the VT Bass?

I'm thinking about getting the DL-8, but for $10 more I could get the DD-7, any opinions?

Does anyone have any soundclips of any of the Hardwire pedals, I am interested in all of them. :cool:

They haven't been around for that long, so there is no way to tell if they'll hold up over a long, long time. But they're built very solidly. I would expect them to survive indefinitely.

They are slightly larger than a Boss pedal, so that may play a role in your decision.

The CM-2 and VT pedals are entirely different beasts. There is no comparison between them. Do you want to sound like a Tubescreamer or do you want to sound like an Ampeg?

No soundclips here. Sorry. Try the Hardwire pedals if you can at your local GC. They sound good, are built solidly and have some very nice features.

I've got the DL-8. It was between that and the Boss DD-7. The DD-7 has a jack for an external tap tempo while the DL-8 goes into tap tempo mode when you hold the switch down for 3 seconds. DL-8 has a slightly longer delay and in normal mode when you set the feedback all the way up it stops recording and holds the loop indefinitely, this is a pretty cool feature. The DL-8 can also be set for trails but this makes it not true bypass. I haven't tried this yet so I don't know how the alternate bypass sounds. It also works fine with my One Spot daisy chain but mysteriously wouldn't work with a wall wart from a Zoom B2. I think the Hardwire pedals are really good quality although I haven't tried any of their others.

Has anyone tried their chorus or reverb?

I've got the reverb. It's a fantastic unit. The various reverb sounds are very nice with a fairly low noise floor. I have yet to test it at its limits, but I can't get it to overload yet. Seems solidly built and had the features that I was looking for in a reverb.
