Hardwood Floor Bass

Hi Guys,

this started as fun projekt and ended up as my favorit bass.

The wood: 2 layers of paulowinia wood and oak hardwood floor top and back
The neck: NOS Framus multilayer short scale 30" from the mid 70s (beech wood?)
The pickups: Guitar humbuckers from China
Hardware: China
Electronics: ARTEC active
Finish: Mix of Tru Oil and Danish Oil "Dark Walnut"

This is not a semi hollow, there is only a small "sound chamber" beneath the f hole.

All kidding aside, it looks very nice. How does it play? How does it sound? My hat is off to anyone who can do woodworking like that!

It plays very smooth, but don't expect a slapper! Because of the narrow string spacing it is playable like a Hofner Violin Bass. The pickups are placed on the JB Positions but it is a short scale, so you have more vintage colors in the sound. Sorry, it is difficult to explain a sound, especially when using a foreign language.

Internal wireless? Now that I have thought of that, I want it, badly.

There was no output jack, I used it for another project. So I have soldered the cable directly through the electronics cavity and left it open while playing. I'll upload more pics on the weekend, especially with the output jack.
