Harmony Central is Dead

Zing.

All jokes aside I would really like to see the traffic numbers one month prior to the changeover and now (one month in.)
I was mostly just being snarky in parroting the complaints here rather than giving legitimate weight to them. Grown men should be able to handle a software update without soiling themselves.

No insight into the HC forums, as I've never used them.

That's basically it though. They "upgraded" the forum software and had a whole bunch of problems. Folks were somewhat patient in fixing those problems, but they took forever in getting it done. Then they "upgraded" the software again to it's current state a short time later and ran into similar issues. It was very frustrating so users just left.

I used to spend a lot of time over there, very cool forum with great people. Most of the bass forum users went over to Ebassist AKAIK.

The first response is accurate.

Harmony Central used to be easy to use and visually simple. They "upgraded" and everything became much more difficult to use despite the eye candy they added.

I used to use it all the time, but I haven't been back on that website in years - after their "upgrade" I couldn't use it.

Incidentally, TB is more complex to navigate now than it used to be, but IMO hasn't jumped the shark.

While I agree grown men crying about an internet site changing it's layout are full-blown pathetic I do miss all those complainers making posts. New threads are like hen's teeth these days. Even OT has just been re-hashing the same threads.

Eh. Spring is here, the unemployment rate is at a six year low, and maybe people have started to ignore the things that really count (arguing online about the quality of last gig's sound guy) for the banal tedium of friends and family. The architecture is here when they're ready to devolve into degenerate post whores again.

I think we have reached the point in internet history where once go-to web sites go the way of the dinosaur.
Kind of like Woolworths, Kmart, Sears, etc did in retail. There are sites I used to frequent that are on my meh list now.
To me Harmony was an unmoderated mess, but I did like the review section.
