My current setup is a Carvin 1-15 and Carvin 2-10 that I bought in '93. I am running them with a Hartke 5000 head. For my classic rock gigs I use the thing in full range, and for the more intimate stuff I either run biamped or just use the 2-10.
These cabinets have been used and abused for 7 years, and still sound great. The head sounds real good, and the only thing I could see trading it for would be a Carvin head with all the EQ stuff.
I have played through all three types of cabinets, and used the Carvin and Hartke live. As far as bang for your buck, I don't think you can beat the Carvin cabinets.
Now, as soon as they build a bass that I like.......
