Has any one regretted selling a certain bass?

1982 G&L L2000 black beauty ~ no excuse for selling it for $250. I bought a Peavey Dyna Bass a few months later that I still own. I remember thinking at the time that the Peavey was a lot lighter and easier to play & has a three band pre-amp. I wish I would have kept both, the G&L was and still is a snarling monster.

I had an Epiphone Scroll (2 year japaneese guitar) sold this + worked for a year to buy a lespaul custom.

This was my best lesson that a name and money do not equate to better quality and sound.

Man I wish I could find that Scroll.. funky Prince looking guitar

no regrets as they were all not rare basses but i sold some to cheap i miss my first good bass, a 2002 fender p bass special with a bad ass 2 bridge and a BWB guard on it it was black and had passive electronics which are hard to find with this model wish i still had it

I think by this time we all regret the ones that got away,I had a jetglo Ric a Guild Starfire a Gibson EBO a nice sunburst P-bass a sweet Yamaha a Dano in Periwinkle all of these I wish I still had

1993 Peavey TL-6, Flame maple body transparent blue finish, Ebony fretboard. Played like a dream. (sounded like crap, but I could have changed the pickups and elelctronics...).

How about equipment regrets? Sold a '67 Bassman 50 head and matching 2x12 cabinet in the late 80's to a good friend for $150. Worked flawlessly. My son is now 14 and plays guitar; I wish I'd kept it to give to him -- that hurts the most.

Yeah. My first two.

My first was a '73 Kingston J. A tobacco Burst w/a red pin-striped deep blue PG, pearl blocks on a RW board, dual SCs w/VV and dual 3-position sliders.
Sold in '79 because I was a stupid kid.

My second was a late '70s? early '80s? Fender J. A heavy ash Tuxedo with black dots on a maple board. IMO, it looked cool with black strings.
Sold in '83 because I was disillusioned w/'80s R&R.
(Again, because I was a stupid kid).

I had a Ric 4001 that I gave away in a trade that I now wish I would have kept. The Ric was pretty beat up, but still it would have been nice to have around today considering I could have taken it in and had some retore work done to it. Mainly, I was young and irresponsible back then so no since in chewing on my past. I've since then made some good moves as far as bass gear goes, so today I'm pretty satisfied.

I think "all of them" except I will not regret unloading the EUB (Dean Pace p.o.s.), but most certainly my first 'new' bass: 1972 Fender Precision. I sold it when I quit the biz in 1978 thinking that it deserved to continue "on the road". Sold it way under priced to someone scouting the 'free ad' papers who probably resold it for much more, and I have regretted it everyday since. That 30 years of ache.

I'm on the fence about this one...
I had a EBMM 'ray 4 fretless, an exact copy of my fretted (save for the Pau ferro fingerboard), natural ash with birds-eye neck. At the time, I REALLY wanted a 5-string, so I traded it for the G&L L2500 which I still own. I really love the L2500, but I wish I still had that 'Ray...what's a guy to do?

Custom Carvin, 4 string bolt on neck quilted maple, clear finish, matching head stock 5 peice maple/walnut neck.
Sold it cause I was in a pinch. If I ever find it im assinating the owner, and taking it back.

This bass Killed! A goodly amount of well earned MoJo. The most stable neck I've ever owned ... never once needed to adjust the truss rod!

Sold it to help pay for college.
(and to think ... I sold it for about half of what the neck would go for today ... BUT this was about 7yrs before eBay )

I had a couple Ken Smith 20th Anniversary basses I wish I still had. A Lacewood 4 string (one of 5) and a Maple 5 string (one of 19) made. Loved the feel and look, but the tone wasn't what I wanted - at the time - so they went to fund something else.

Warwick Thumb bolt-on 6-string fretless

The most top-heavy bass I've ever played. I was gigging a lot, and so wanted something for gigs. However, it was the best sounding bass I've had, before or since. An amazing amount of punch. And beautiful.

I miss it still.

My Modulus Quantum 5, traded it for a nice drum kit for my son, and a EBMM 4 for myself. Wasn't playing much at the time, so thought, why not? Missed that bass TERRIBLY! Approx 1 1/2 years later, bought another Mod Q5, didn't like it near as well. Wound up trading it and one hundred bucks for my old Q5. She's with me still, and knock on wood, will never leave!
