Has anyone just bought a Parker Fly 5 string?

I saw Adrian Belew this summer and his bass player played a 4 string red one. It had tone to die for! I've had Parker Gass for awhile now.

The thing that bothers me the most is the headstock design, and how the G is kinda free-floating for a little bit.

I've always wanted to try one myself, all of my basses are over 9-10lbs and I'm getting too old to handle them night after night. Isn't the average weight of a parker around 7lb?

Yeah, there's some budget models coming out, dont think they'll be offered in a 5 string though I really aint too sure. I have seen pics of the 4 string models though.

I played a 4 string red one at Truetone, interesting tone... other than the piezo, it sounded like an active Modulus VJ. It was a little pricey for what it offered me.

Yeah, I can't get into the Fly either. I like the headstock fine, but the body just looks 'tubby' to me. Like a Fly guitar that has been stuffing itself with doughnuts and fried chicken for too long.

I do really like the guitars though.

FWIW, I only used my red Parker Fly 5 and my custom 6 string Status Graphite fretless on this particular record.
