You look more like a teddybear then Slash I'll give them that but you gotta work with what you got. Never heard the same comments about Franz Ferdinand or the Arctic Monkeys who where a bit babyfaced as well. A proper haircut might do you good though , the one you got now is part of the problem. It can make a hell of a difference on how people see you. There's this lad from Wolverhampton called Ricki Hall and this is what he used to look like:

That's what a haircut can do for you. Now I'm not saying you should jump on the hipster band wagon and get the same thing but it can mean a lot in how people perceive you. As far as clothing goes , it helps in how people see you as well so what are you wearing ?

My main reaction is, who cares? Look like yourself. But if you want to look more rock and roll, the obvious thing is hair and clothes. Tattoos are all over these days, but they're expensive, it's a commitment, and IMO they've gotten passe. But when I thought baby-faced bass player, this guy came to mind: Ed Nash of Bombay Bicycle Club.

First off, that eyebrow you got cocked up makes you look like you're trouble walkin'. Or, you could just take up a martial arts discipline and don't even worry about it. A couple of hard Muay Thai leg kicks will chill anybody out for a few days...... Or, weeks.
Just take 1 minute out of your day and watch this...... Oh, and read the caption after the video.

You're not supposed to get tattoo's to look like a rockstar , you should get them because you like them. As far as passe , I think it's just the start of the acceptance of it and that they aren't just for bikers , sailors and rockstars. We'll be seeing a lot of it I reckon.

This is definitely my favourite advice haha. I'm only dressed like that in that picture because the front man was an absolute control freak - normally I' wearing crappy jeans and band shirts. He insisted everyone wear shirts, black jeans and smart shoes, then he'd rock up in sweat pants. Safe to say I've long left that band.

SERIOUSLY?! It's not as if I'm choosing to do that, it's an involuntary thing. I've played in a lot of rough places and nobody has even hinted at saying I'm gay. I really wish we could meet in person; sounds like you're asking to be head butted.

I get it about the hair, but there isn't to much I can do. 7 years ago I had a brain tumour and had to have radiotherapy. After my hair had all fallen out it started to grow back all different, really thick and uncontrollable. I have so many scars on my head I couldn't shave it. Maybe I try and grow it long.

And I am buying a longer strap.

I'm sorry to hear about your brain tumour , that isn't easy to deal with and it doesn't make it easier to be reminded about it in this way. As far as the pinky and the gay comments go , that didn't come to mind while looking at your picture and I think my pinky does the same thing.

You look like a young accountant. ;) Actually nothing wrong with being an accountant, I was one. Now I'm just a retired rock n roll geezer.

Let your hair grow out and buy a bikers jacket. I'm thinking about getting one to wear when I ride my bicycle around town. That should be good for a few laughs. Or for getting my arse whipped. Oh....sorry about your brain tumours. Just read that part.

I'd also say that a different hairstyle would help (grow it long or faux hawk?), but my comment is tinged with jealousy as I'm bald due to early onset of male pattern baldness. Are there any rock musicians or singers that you dig the style of? Worn (not ragged) jeans and band t-shirts work, and tattoos are good but only if they mean something to you personally...nothing lamer than someone who just gets a bunch of flash tattoos to look cool without a good story behind them. Some musicians can make jewelry work for them, like rings, chains, piercings, etc but again it's probably best to change your look to something that you enjoy wearing anytime of the week so that you're not "putting on a costume" for a gig.
