Keyboard players have been talking about replacing bass players(and drummers) forever. I know some guys who contributed to samples for Trillian. I think it's a great product but it'll never replace bass players. Drums would be the easiest musician to replace and people said that the original Linn drum would replace drummers. All it did was contribute to some of the worst sounding drum tracks ever.
It takes so much effort for a keyboard player to capture the nuance of bass playing and drumming that it's actually easier just to have a real bassist drummer player the part.
But the biggest factor is,..,
Keyboard players(and guitarist) are generally the worst bass players on the planet!
And only a non-musician or novice thinks the Seinfeld music is real electric bass. It doesn't even come close to the essence of a real bass.
But I let them think what they want to think.
