Have you named your bass/basses if so what are their names and why... if not Why Not?

My Fender Jazz Bass's name is Phyllis, and I am yet to name my Lakland 44-02.

I name my first acoustic guitar (black Alvarez RD20SC) Shaniqua.

That was many years ago… all the guitars and basses, keyboards, drums, since,

hasn't even entered my mind.

I guess I'm too busy naming songs.

Yes, my bass is named Faust. Simply because it's an awesome name, and I personify everything.

It goes back to naming ships. You always named your ship and with a female name. Was superstition for sailors. I guess when you go to sea for months or longer at a time, you need something to hang on to. God forbid you sink and get eaten by sharks. If I ever sink and start to get eaten by sharks while playing my bass I'll name it before the first nibble! Then hit the shark with it.

I don't name inanimate objects. But I do refer to my double bass as "the blond".

Absolutely no on the naming. My basses are not named, my cars are not named, my lower male appendage is not named.

I name 'em all. If they don't have enough personality to merit a name, they get sold. Sometimes they're named, then sold, and the name is recycled when they're replaced. Orange Basslab is Clementine, Walnut Elrick is Raoul, Blk Jazz is Rufus (a name prev used for anothe Fender), white Jazz is Cletus, Emerald ABG is The Emerald, TBC Ver is the Beach Bass, Steiny Synapse fretless is Marvin the Martian, Ash Elrick hasn't grown into a name yet........maybe it'll be for sale, LOL.

Conversely I have enver understood not naming things that incite passion in their owners. My truck is Macala, My Ric Is Sara, My Fretless and MTD KZ haven't told me their names yet, but all signs point to the KZ growing into one. Not as sure about the Jazz
