I sold my beloved Gibson Flying V Bass some time ago.....probably 15 years or so and lately I've wondered what's become of her. I don't expect the new owner to even consider selling it, but if it's a possibility then who knows. I can prove the serial number if necessary.
Yes it's been customized but it's a genuine 1981 and I sold it at a time when I needed to buy my house so I'm sure many of you can relate.
Any thoughts or leads are welcome.

I got it back in 1986 at Daddy's Junky Music in Boston. It was once owned by Benjamin Orr from The Cars.
It was dark blue and already had the Kahler and both DiMarzio model Ones on it. It stayed like that until I found a killer book matched birds eye maple slab and had it installed along with the body & headstock binding.
I still have the original pick guard for it.

I was intrigued by the story and the bass, so I went all google-happy trying to match the description at the very least =0)

I've been doing the same thing for about 8 months. Google used to be a reliable source but now if you type anything in you get everything but what you're looking for. I figured I'd pass it along to Talk Bass just to get other perspectives and hopefully some leads.

Minus the wrong tremolo bar it still looks legit. Awaiting more info.

Oh yeah, it's got to be the same bass. Even if there was another with a birdseye top, the Kahler would compound to ridiculous odds of a second existing. Plus, the neck pickup is very slightly off-center to the bass side in both shots. =0) Let's hope Susqmike has your bass, man!
