HBE Hematoma VS. EBS Multidrive

I currently own an EBS Multidrive that I love and gives me the dark, warm overdirve that I love but the fact that it drinks up my top end has gotten to be a bit annoying. Thanks to this forum I've become very interested in the Hematoma and the sound samples I've heard thus far have been really great. I'm not really looking for versatility, just a similar warm overdrive without losing any low or top end to my clean tone. Something like a 70s Orange 120 pushed to 10. I've had a Fulltone Bass Drive in the past but sold it because I found that it didn't do much to warm up my tone but added a nice overdrive. The new MOSFET bassdrive has me pretty intrigued but not as much as the Hematoma.

The drive on my Multidrive is usually set around 2:30/3 o'clock and is almost always on, I play in a noise rock band and only shut it off for quiet parts.

So is the Hematoma the beast I'm looking for?

The Hematoma definitely has some roll off on the top end. It's hard to get a real bite with it, and that's a tone I really like, but I still love mine anyhow because it does the darkened warmness thing just great. Awesome pedal, I'm always saying great things about it. :p

I have a Bass-drive MOSFET on its way to me right now in hopes of retaining a treble bite without losing the lowend, we'll see how that works out. The MI Audio Neo Fuzz has treble in spades so that's great for now.

The Hematoma's boost is clean, but I find the best use for it when with the overdrive section turned on, making things even dirtier. :D

I was hoping you would answer this. Would you say the roll off the top end is as significant as the multidrive, and how is the construction? The darkened warmness is definitely what I love, I just don't know if it would be worth spending the money for a pedal I already sort of own.

I'm such an overdrive fanatic, it's ridiculous.

Tell me more of this MI Audio Neo Fuzz..

I think I'm in every thread concerning the Hematoma. :D

I have not used a Multidrive myself, so I can't answer that question, but the construction on the Hematoma is superb and with near a year's use and abuse, no issues.

The MI Audio Neo Fuzz is a great, very versatile unit. Not the warmest fuzz I've heard, but the vast tone control and the fact that it works fine with active electronics more than makes up for it. Plus it's cheaper than most other high-end fuzzes. :)

I emailed MI Audio about bass use in their Tube Zone overdrive, I'll be damned if that isn't the most intimidating looking pedal I've ever seen.

Yeah I'm pretty fanatical about warm tones myself, the tone I'm trying to reach is similar to a Queens of The Stone Age tone, especially on the first album.
