HD Power Strips For My Odyssey Rack?

I'm re-working my PA rig and hope to simplify the power harness to (3) power amps, mixer, and a host of external processors. I'd like to add two power strips, one mounted to the floor of the cabinet (for the amps), the second mounted to an accessory shelf about halfway up. Note: please keep in mind that I'd prefer to mount both with the receptacles facing upward to accommodate a handful of wall-warts in addition to the power cards so rackmountable strips are not necessary. I also have a very nice surge protector on board for the more sensitive components.

If you could suggest a unit (and source) meeting this description, I'd be most appreciative. Needless to say, I'm more concerned about the power amps and the quality, or lack thereof, of commonly available power strips. The amps are (2) QSC RMX 2450's and (1) 1450 which is relatively low-powered considering some of the mambo racks in use. I should also mention that the power in some local venues leaves a lot to be desired.

Since quality is a must, then you want to look at Surgex. They have several pieces in their SA series products that should do the trick. And they are the best available anywhere.

The consumer grade stuff at HD isn't made to do what you want. Combining 3 power amps into a single box means you need outlets and wire rated to handle more than 15A.

Absolutely. "HD" was used to denote heavy-duty but I appreciate the warning....and others should pay heed.

Thanks! I like the jobby with the top-accessible outlets and the price is reasonable. This should take care of the whole PA rack, correct? I found a 20A Leviton on Amazon but the things run ~$85.

A belated thank you. I snagged the unit above as suggested. Very nice and the configurable rack ears allow for a variety of install options.

so yeah...surgex is amazing....or even furman. the PLC range from them is great and you would possibly wanna look at a unitwith a 20amp rating so as you can get the max out of your amps...
