A couple of years ago I made the mistake of buying a fake '62 type Fender head decal and put it on my VM jazz. I wasn't trying to pretend it was real and it has bothered me. Since then I've made my own decals to put it right; I'd like people's opinion on which I should go for.

I love my VM and I'm proud to be playing a Squier, I just love the old style logo's.
    What do people think?

Personally, I like the second one. Looks very "pre-CBS".
    Nice work.

Both are nice. I'd pick the '71.

I'd use both. I'd also add a third like the ones on my VM P, and VM J, a combo of the golden Squier name on the second one, with the name of the bass on a curved line the same as on the first one.
    Similar to this:

BTW, I appreciate you doing this, There's ben many a time I've looked at a Fender bass for sale and thought , ooo, that's nice, then, when it's revealed that it's a Squier rebranded as a Fender turns me right off of it. I always think to myself, I might have considered buying this bass, if I could find a nice Squier decal to put it right.

  7. I rather like the second one, but they are both very cool and well done.

This is more or less a late '70's type right? Yeah ok, I'll draw one up and post it here, see how it looks. The more I think about it I'm surprised these aren't already available.

  11. I think this is a great idea...well done. There are those of us who agree with C.Linton's post above...

    BTW I like both also.

I like them both, but have a preference for the simplicity of the first decal.

  13. I'm currently working on a refin of a VM with matching headstock, any chance I could buy a decal from you? I don't have the right printer (inkjet or laser jet I can't remember which I read about).

  14. both look great
    #2 slightly greater IMO

Where do you live? I'd be happy to strike a deal, yeah.

  16. I'm in England, but have an address in Nashville if you aren't comfortable with sending overseas.

The bass in question is a VM no guard body with a mighty mite neck that I'm going to refinish in Inca Silver nitro.

Hah, I'd put one of those on an actual Fender.

I would go with the second one but then I would spell it Squire....
